Welcome to the place in the world where home and hospitality collide.
A smidge about me: I used to work in restaurants and was on my way to owning one, but God stopped my plans. Now, I work a 9-5 desk job and am bringing the skills I learned over the years in hospitality into the home (which is so much impactful). Â I’ve been married 7 years, we have two pups, and a couple of multi-family properties that we bounce around in. Between the full-time jobs, home reno’s, and serving in our church (and a friends church), life is a little crazy. The Abode Cafe is a place for me to share what I am learning about hosting people when life feels too busy.
I pray that in spending some time here, your heart might crack open a little bit and you will consider how a meal with a friend in your home might actually be the thing you are missing.
O, and a dear friend once told me she would follow my blog for my style section – so there will be a bit of my quirky style on here…but mostly the heart exposing reality that life is so much better when you let others into it.
Cheers, Â Lauren
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Romans 12:9-13
